Mental health situation resolved peacefully after large police presence in Sheboygan – Sheboygan Press

SHEBOYGAN – A mental health situation has been resolved peacefully after a large police presence in the area of North 47th Place and County Road J on Wednesday morning.
An emergency alert sent mid-morning advised residents to avoid the area, and North 47th Place was blocked by sheriff’s and emergency personnel vehicles in both directions. SWAT responders and vehicles were also present, one identifiable from Manitowoc County.
Shortly after noon, Corey Norlander, captain of patrol and criminal investigations for the sheriff’s office, told the Sheboygan Press the incident had been resolved peacefully.
Lincoln-Erdman Elementary School, nearby at 4101 N. 50th St., had notified families Wednesday morning the school was in a “lock and hold” because of a “police situation in the area that is unrelated” to the school. The lock and hold was lifted by the sheriff’s office shortly after noon, according to Lincoln-Erdman Principal Amanda Barttelt Schermetzler.
