The biggest weekend of U.S. Wrestling continued Friday, April 25, at the 2025 USA Wrestling US Open in Las Vegas, Nev., bringing the Senior Men Freestyle division with it.
The country’s top Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers have been battling it out at The Expo at World Market Center, delivering only the best action as they aim to advance to Final X in June, or even claim a spot on the U.S. World Team.
Day 3 was the start of one of the most challenging divisions at the Open, with the nation’s top Senior Men Freestyle wrestlers kicking off competition with prelims, quarterfinals and semifinals.
Additionally, the Senior Women Freestyle, U15 Freestyle, Senior Greco-Roman Group A and U17 Greco-Roman divisions faced the finals.

Despite a dominant run at the 2025 USA Wrestling US Open, the nations top high school prospect, Marcus Blaze, has been defeated.

With all of the stacked divisions and weight classes at this year’s US Open, it’s no surprise that there’d be monstrous talent throughout every corner.
But, the 61-kg Senior Mens Freestyle division has been one of the most exciting, seeing the nationally ranked No. 1 and No. 2 high school wrestlers, Marcus Blaze and Jax Forrest, ripping through the competition.
The two have advanced into the semifinals, where Blaze will take on Seth Gross and Forrest will face Ben Davino.

FloWrestling’s No. 1-ranked high school wrestler in the nation, Marcus Blaze, has begun competition at the US Open with a dominant 10-0 win over Juan Diaz in the first round of the Senior Mens Freestyle division.
Blaze, a four-time Ohio State wrestling champion, is a favorite to win the 61-kg division at the Open, so be sure to keep an eye out.
