Trinity Health debuts pediatric therapy gym – KFYR

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – Enhanced therapeutic care for children in the Magic City is now more accessible. On Monday, Trinity Health West opened its new Pediatric Therapy Gym.
The facility has two calming rooms and a sensory gym.
Each area is designed to be a stress-free environment for children to receive physical, occupational and speech therapy services.
Patients will be able to play and explore, which can improve their core strength and processing skills, all while providing social interaction.
Director of Therapy Services, Wade McDowell said this project took about a year to complete and was well worth it.
“Their work is play. That’s how they learn and grow and develop. And this is a space built around play,” said McDowell.
McDowell’s favorite part of the project was the murals that tie in the generous donors of the project, but also landscapes and details that can be used for therapeutic techniques.
The gym was made possible from generous donations by Town and Country Credit Union and Trinity Health Foundation.
