Anupamaa actor Rupali Ganguly’s stepdaughter, Esha Verma, recently shared an emotional video on Instagram, aimed at her father Ashwin K Verma. In the video, Esha accused Ashwin of being unsupportive during her childhood and even “mocking” her mental health struggles. This message came after Esha publicly accused Rupali of breaking up her parents’ marriage and of “mentally, emotionally, and physically” abusing both her and her mother.
Esha further opened up about her father, sharing that he not only refused to support her but also mocked her struggles with mental health struggles. In the video, she said, “I may be 26 now, but the pain and memories still stick, affecting both my future and present. Through all of this, I have had to stand up against my bullies. It wasn’t just me who was hurt; my mother was, too. They didn’t acknowledge me. They chose to abandon me, criticise me, and pick on my insecurities. They never apologised to me, either publicly or personally. What hurt the most was my own father’s response — he chose to mock mental health. He didn’t shield me from the harsh comments I faced, nor did he protect me throughout my life.”
Esha shared that despite her efforts to heal over the years, old wounds resurfaced after she encountered hurtful comments in the media. Referring to Rupali, she expressed, “It hurts especially when you have built your career out of lies and hurting someone else. And you don’t feel guilty about it. Didn’t expect any response or any return. Not taking accountability for your actions and ignoring it like nothing happened. That’s your response to me for the last 24 years of my life.”

Esha explained that she felt compelled to share her story publicly to reveal the truth about those involved. She also revealed that she isn’t represented by any PR team and is putting out her story as it is. “I don’t have a PR team, I am speaking for myself and sharing my story,” she said.
She addressed Ashwin and Rupali’s son, Rudransh, offering an apology to him and expressing her affection. She added that she hopes their father is being the supportive parent to Rudransh that she and her sister did not experience. “I apologise if I hurt someone, especially my little brother. I didn’t intend anything like that to happen and I have so much love for you. I hope Papa is the dad to you, that he couldn’t be for me and my sister. But the thing is that I had a different experience. We all grew up as single children, we don’t even have a photo together to this day. That was our father’s responsibility to bring us three together,” she said.
She concluded the video with a message for her father, Ashwin. She said, “A message to my Papa, I am sorry this has to go this far but you never apologised to me ever. Nor did you listen, you always shut me down and I always felt unsafe around her (Rupali). I tried to open up to you and you never took my side.” She went on to say, “You still told mom you loved her. Even after all of this. Why did you lie to us? This wasn’t for revenge. This was for a daughter to stand up for herself.”
Pakistan secures a historic series win against Australia after 22 years, with the hosts being dismissed for 140 in the first innings. The Australian batting lineup struggles against strong bowling, with no player scoring above 50 in the three-match series.
