Cafexpo
A new national coffee trade show for Honduras called Cafexpo is scheduled to debut in San Pedro Sula in March 2025.
Coordinated by the Honduran national coffee institute IHCAFE, commercial partners and USAID, through a USAID Sustainable Agribusiness investment, the event is being designed for actors throughout the coffee supply chain, including producers, equipment and input suppliers, exporters, importers, roasters, retailers, government agencies, NGOs and more.

According to the organizers, the event will feature an exhibition hall, a series of workshops and lectures, and coffee competitions. International attendees will have ample opportunities to meet coffee producers and arrange additional visits.
The event is taking place on Friday and Saturday, March 21-22, at the Copantl Hotel and Convention Center.
“Honduras stands out as the top coffee producing origin in Central America and ranks third in all of Latin America,” IHCAFE Marketing Chief Karla Calidonio told Daily Coffee News. “So, the variety and complexity of coffee from different origins, each with its unique profiles, will be the main draw, along with the chance to meet the incredible men and women behind these exceptional coffees.”

As one of the world’s key coffee producers, Honduras is currently in the midst of a national farm renovation program that involves widespread pruning, managing inputs for soil health and a comprehensive pest- and disease-management strategy.
“All of this is done with a business mindset,” Calidonio said. “We’re connecting to the market at competitive prices while also focusing on protecting and regenerating the environment.”
On more local or regional levels, the show promises to provide meaningful, direct connections between actors throughout the nation’s supply chain, and to international guests.
“Cafexpo represents a pivotal moment for Honduran coffee producers, uniting tradition with innovation as we showcase our dedication to excellence and sustainability,” award-winning Honduran coffee producer Benjamin Paz said in an announcement from the organizers this week. “Together, we are not just cultivating coffee; we are nurturing a bright future for generations to come.”
