Georgia WR Jackson Meeks announces he will enter transfer portal – 247Sports

Georgia wide receiver Jackson Meeks struggled to separate himself in a deep room of pass-catchers for the Bulldogs. After three years in Athens, Meeks is looking for a new start elsewhere.
Meeks announced via Instagram his plans to enter the transfer portal on Monday. The Phenix City, Ala. native has one year of eligibility remaining.
Meeks drew praise entering 2023 for his work in the summer and early in fall camp before a foot injury forced him to miss several weeks. He missed the season opener against UT Martin but played in the Bulldogs’ next 12 games, though mostly on special teams. He had 1 reception for 23 yards this season.
Meeks played a limited role on the 2022 offense. He ended the season with 6 receptions for 65 yards. He had 3 receptions for 31 yards in Georgia’s Week 2 win over Samford.
Meeks stepped up for Georgia during his true freshman season, when the Bulldogs were quite beat up at wide receiver. He ended the year having played in nine games and having recorded 3 receptions for 44 yards.
In three seasons, Meeks has 10 receptions for 132 yards.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Meeks was a three-star prospect from Central-Phenix City. He burst onto the scene as a recruit after a breakout game against Alabama high school powerhouse Hoover High School in which he had 13 receptions for 233 yards/
During his sophomore and junior seasons as a Red Devil, he had 14 receptions for 135 yards with 1 touchdown.
