Brooke County employees will soon experience changes to their health insurance following a decision by county commissioners to adopt a new plan.

WELLSBURG, W.Va. — Brooke County employees will soon experience changes to their health insurance following a decision by county commissioners to adopt a new plan.
The new insurance plan will ensure that county employees face no deductible costs.
"The plan is a higher deductible plan, however there is gap insurance included in that so our employees at the end of the day will pay no deductible on their health insurance whatsoever. We're happy to be able to do that, we want to keep attracting new people and also retaining them," Brooke County Commissioner AJ Thomas said.
In addition to the insurance changes, the commission took time to recognize five county fire departments for their assistance in flood recovery efforts in Ohio County.
