Beat the Heat this summer with a complimentary walking pass at the Student Fitness Center – Illinois State University News

Looking for a cool way to stay active this summer? Starting July 1, Campus Recreation and Health Promotion and Wellness are inviting faculty and staff to Beat the Heat, with a free walking pass at the Student Fitness Center.
This one-time summer pass provides entry to the third-floor indoor track from Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., beginning Tuesday, July 1 through Friday, August 15. Participants can swipe in any time before 1 p.m., and walk at their own pace, offering flexibility and a refreshing break from the summer heat.
Passes are available at no cost but must be obtained in person at the Student Fitness Center welcome desk. The final day to claim your pass is Thursday, July 31, but all passes will remain valid through August 15.
Faculty and staff also have access to two dedicated locker rooms inside the Student Fitness Center, making it easy to freshen up before heading back to work or continuing your day.
Whether you’re easing back into a routine or looking for a midday wellness break, Beat the Heat offers a convenient way to stay active indoors and out of the heat this summer. Even more exciting wellness and fitness opportunities for faculty and staff are on the horizon, with expanded offerings launching in fall 2025.
