Penalty corner for Great Britain is given. However, India contests for a referral and manages to keep the referral as its a stick check and not a foot. However, a green card for India leaves it two players down at the start of the fourth quarter.
Manpreet maneuvers his way past defenders in the half way line, but fails to connect one to Lalit as the ball is sent out.
Sumit gets the ball near the circle and dribbles past two defenders.
PC for Great Britain as ball touches Indian defenders foot inside the circle. Manpreet is the runner for India and the ball is stopped by Sreejesh.
Jarmanpreet tackles outside the circle and wards off a circle penetration.
Waller gets a PC for Great Britain. Furlong’s flick is saved by Sreejesh but is dangerously cleared.
Jaramnapreet clears the ball to Abhishek. Indians dribbles the ball away from their half but Mandeep with the stick check will give away the free hit given to Hardik.
Great Britain gets the third quarter underway. Diagonal ball by Shipperley is stopped by Sreejesh, who dives as the ball touches the down left corner of the goalpost.
After the first half, India’s defence was tested with Amit Rohidas, India’s runner and second battery in penalty corner, been sent out with a red card.
Miscontrol from Calnan gives India a free hit.
Lee Morton scores off a rebound that Sreejesh had previously saved. Great Britain equalises.
Manpreet blocks the penalty corner and the ball is sent out. Great Britain tries to score again but Sreejesh closes the angle as the ball goes wide.

Paris 2024: The suspension meant Rohidas was suspended for the match and India was reduced to 10 men for the remaining contest.
Manpreet’s stick tackle within the Indian striking circle, leaves Great Britain with a PC. While the shot is missed with Sreejesh’s save, India attempts a counter-attack but Abhishek misses.
Amit gets a red card as he lifts the stick to the face of Calnan. India will have to play with 10 players from now on.
A loose ball from Sumit as Morton steals it and enters the circle. Referral by Sam Ward leaves Great Britain in a disadvantageous position.
The first quarter ends with both the teams failing to score despite multiple attempts.
Three consecutive corners but Payne saves the last one as Harmanpreet mistimes the ball.
India gets its first PC against Great Britain. While Harmanpreet fails to read the trapped ball, another PC is awarded.

Wallace gets an intercepted ball and passes to Furlong. Dangerous play near the circle followed by a foot inside a PC. A referral is called by Great Britain and win a PC.
India manages to clear the ball inside its D as Great Britain starts off the game with pace.
Great Britain gets a free hit on its right side as it manages to connect the ball.
Wallace gets a stick check on the left hand side of the goal.

The Indian men’s hockey team ended a 41-year wait to make it to the medal round at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 as it clinched a 3-1 win over Great Britain at the Oi Hockey Stadium to advance to the semifinal.
India has shifted gears at the right time.
A robust challenge to defending champion Belgium and a historic win over Olympic silver medallist Australia in its last two pool matches has set up the Craig Fulton-coached side nicely to take on another tough rival, Great Britain, in the quarterfinals of the hockey competitions in the Olympics at the Yves du Manoir Stadium here on Sunday.
India had lost to Great Britain in their last two meetings in the FIH Pro League in London in June. But the Harmanpreet Singh-led outfit has lifted its game steadily in the Olympics and is likely to throw a different challenge against the same rival at a different venue.
India has shown coordination among its defence, midfield and forwardline.
With the seasoned P.R. Sreejesh under the bar, Amit Rohidas and Jarmanpreet Singh on the back, Manpreet Singh and Hardik Singh in the midfield and Abhishek, Gurjant and Sukhjeet up the field, the team has capable personnel manning every part of the field. Additionally, the flexibility of the players, developed under Fulton, is proving beneficial.
